Sam Toland — Owner, SBM Tackle
 

Sam Toland is the owner of SBM Tackle and a lifelong New England fisherman with more than 45 years of experience on the water. Born and raised in Middletown, Rhode Island, Sam has spent decades fishing the waters off Newport, pursuing striped bass, blackfish, fluke, and other prized coastal species. His experience also includes time as a commercial fisherman and more than 30 years operating a local bait and tackle shop.

Drawing on a lifetime of hands-on experience and feedback from fellow fishermen and longtime customers, Sam has developed a deep understanding of what makes fishing gear reliable and effective. At SBM Tackle, he specializes in hand-tied rigs designed with a focus on quality, strength, and performance—helping anglers spend less time dealing with failed gear and more time catching fish.
